Pakistani Information Minister Attaullah Tarar confirmed on Tuesday that Iran's response regarding confirmation of its delegation's participation in the negotiations is pending.
Tarar stated in a press conference, "We are awaiting an official response from Iran confirming its delegation's participation in the Islamabad talks." He added that "Pakistan, as the mediator, is in constant contact with the Iranians and is striving to pursue a diplomatic approach."
He further stated that "the ceasefire ends at 4:50 AM tomorrow, Wednesday, Pakistan time," noting that "Iran's decision to participate in the talks before the ceasefire expires is crucial."
"We have made strenuous efforts to persuade the Iranian leadership to participate in the second round, and these efforts are ongoing." Tarar said.
