Qatari Foreign Ministry: We are engaging with all sides to achieve a peaceful outcome in the Islamabad talks

The Qatari Foreign Ministry affirmed on Tuesday that the continued closure of the Strait of Hormuz is transforming the regional crisis into an international one, noting that it is in contact with all parties to reach a peaceful solution between Washington and Tehran through the Islamabad talks.

Foreign Ministry spokesman Majid Al-Ansari stated, in remarks followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "We are in contact with all parties, including the United States and the Pakistani side, to reach a peaceful solution through the Islamabad negotiations," clarifying at the same time that "the State of Qatar supports de-escalation in Lebanon on all levels."

He explained that "Doha is simultaneously in contact with partners and other international parties to protect supply chains and maritime navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," pointing out that "resolving the Strait of Hormuz crisis is not the responsibility of one country alone, but rather the responsibility of all countries."
